XIN WANG

Biography:

Dr. Wang has completed his BA in School of Environmental Science and Engineering from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Nanjing, China, 1999-2003. He received his PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from College of Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University, Lanzhou, China from 2003-2009. He has been very actively involved in research on atmospheric air pollution. He studies the properties of black carbon and the other light-absorbing impurities in snow and their impact on recent climate. Xian and his team in Lanzhou University have conducted several snow field campaigns since 2009 across northern China.His research also focused on assessing the optical properties of the natural and anthropogenic mineral dust near the dust source regions.

  • Insoluble light-absorbing impurities in snow and ice
  • Cloud/aerosol/radiation/climate interactions
  • Natural and anthropogenic dust events
