The Nursing profession has the potential to effect wide-reaching changes in the health care system. The primary role of a nurse is to advocate and care for individuals and support them through health and illness.
The nursing practice is to provide high quality care, record medical history, manage patient needs, administer medications and treatment, managing intravenous lines, monitor patients health and record signs records, operate medical equipment, to address problems and redesign care to improve outcomes, show compassion and sensitivity, and treat everyone in their care with dignity and humanity. Beyond the physical support and care they provide, nurses may provide emotional support to patients and patients' family members to make informed choices about their treatment and care.
