Aidy Ali is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the National Defence University of Malaysia (UPNM). He obtained his first degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University Putra Malaysia in 1999. He then pursued his Ph.D. at Sheffield University, UK, focusing on improving the fatigue life of aircraft components through surface engineering, and was awarded his Ph.D. in December 2005.
Professor Ali's expertise encompasses mechanical fatigue and fracture of materials, failure assessment, failure prevention analysis, reliability engineering prediction, and crash analysis. His research and contributions in these areas are pivotal for advancements in mechanical engineering and materials science.
His research interests include Fatigue and Fracture of materials, Failure assessment, Failure prevention analysis, Reliability engineering prediction and crash analysis.
