David Mulligan has completed BA from Bellarmine College in the field of Chemistry and Biology and he had done his MD from University of Louisville School of Medicine. He is currently working as a professor of surgery in Yale school of medicines. He is the Chief of Transplantation and Immunology. He has received many international awards and recognition for his contribution in the field of surgery. He served in many international societies.
His research interest includes Living Donor Liver Transplantation, Treatment of Hepatic Malignancies, Organ Preservation Solutions, Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury, Robotic Hepatobiliary Surgery, Organ Allocation and Distribution in the U.S.
