Sunil Sapra is a Professor of Economics and Statistics at California State University, Los Angeles. He earned his Ph.D. in Econometrics from Columbia University, New York. His research primarily focuses on Econometrics (both theoretical and applied) and Statistics, with current interests in high-dimensional data analysis, robust estimation (especially high-breakdown point estimation), semi-parametric estimation of econometric models, resampling techniques, and the counting process approach to transition data analysis.
His work on semi-parametric econometrics, missing data problems, nonlinear statistical and econometric models, robust statistical procedures, limited dependent variables, and duration data analysis has been published in several journals, including Econometric Theory, Econometric Reviews, The American Statistician, International Journal of Advanced Statistics and Probability, Statistica Neerlandica, Statistical Papers, Sankhya, Economics e-Journal, Bulletin of Economic Research, Economics Letters, and Journal of Quantitative Economics.
Dr. Sapra serves on the editorial boards of multiple statistics and economics journals, including Statistics, Optimization, and Information Computing, Economics e-Journal, Open Journal of Statistics, Statistics Research Letters, and the British Journal of Management and Economics. He teaches courses in Econometrics, Business Statistics, Forecasting, and International Economics. He was listed in Who’s Who Among American Teachers and Educators (11th Edition, 2007) and received the Outstanding Professor Award from California State University, Los Angeles, in 2003.
