Muh-Shy Chen graduated from the College of Medicine National Taiwan University in 1972. Chen has M.D. and Ph.D. degrees, and since 1994 he has been serving as a professor in the Department of Ophthalmology, National Taiwan University. He has also been serving as a professor and consultant in the Department of Ophthalmology, Cardinal Tien Hospital, Fu-Jen Catholic University since 2012.
