Dr. Mohammed I. El-Gamal has an illustrious academic background, having earned his B.Sc. degree in pharmaceutical Sciences from the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Mansoura, Egypt, in 2003, where he graduated with "Excellent with honor" grade, being the first achiever. He continued his academic journey by obtaining his M.Sc. degree in medicinal chemistry from the same institution.
In pursuit of further academic and research excellence, Dr. El-Gamal ventured to Korea University of Science and Technology, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Republic of Korea, where he earned his Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry in August 2012. Following the completion of his doctoral studies, he embarked on a successful career path that led him to significant achievements in academia and research.
Dr. El-Gamal's expertise lies in the field of medicinal chemistry, where he has made notable contributions. During his tenure as a star postdoctoral fellow at KIST and as an assistant professor of medicinal chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Mansoura, Egypt, he has demonstrated a remarkable ability to innovate and advance the field.
One of Dr. El-Gamal's notable achievements is the development of a new, more efficient prodrug of Olmesartan, an antihypertensive agent. This innovative prodrug, which he and his group developed, has been successfully marketed in the Republic of Korea, underscoring the practical implications of his research in improving healthcare outcomes.
