Yi Huang

Biography:

Yi Huang is currently an Instructor in the Cancer Biology Division of the Department of Radiation Oncology. He obtained his MS degree from LSU Health Science Center in 2016, where he focused on statistical learning techniques in clinical trials. Currently, he is pursuing his PhD under the guidance of Dr. Travis Loux at Saint Louis University with a research emphasis on statistical learning and causal inference. Prior to joining the faculty, Yi served as a senior statistician in the Department of Radiation Oncology, where he developed a keen interest in clinical trials. In his role as a leading statistician, he provides support for clinical trial design, retrospective clinical projects, preclinical studies, and other translational studies, as well as non-clinical physics and related projects. He works closely with members of the Clinical, Physics, and Biology Divisions to provide critical support for developing and ongoing grants. Additionally, he is involved in training and mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, teaching programs, journal clubs, and related activities in the clinical, cancer biology, and physics division.

Research Interests:

Yi serves as a crucial member of the Cancer Biology Division, offering statistical guidance for all research initiatives in the Department of Radiation Oncology. His area of expertise centers on statistical learning and causal inference, with a particular emphasis on using propensity score matching techniques for clustered data. His aim is to ensure that ongoing and developing research projects receive robust statistical support that allows for accurate and reliable analysis.
