Wenqian Zhou

Biography:

Dr. Wenqian Zhou is an attending physician at the Center of Cardiovascular Disease in the First Hospital of Jilin University, Changchun, Jilin, China. She received her B.A. in Clinical Medicine in 2010, M.S. in Clinical Medicine in 2013, and Ph.D. in Internal Medicine in 2022 from the University of Jilin, Changchun, Jilin, China. During her Ph.D., she was a visiting scholar at the Pediatric Research Institute, University of Louisville, Kentucky, United States. She has presented her research at several conferences, including the 6th China Hypertension Congress and the 9th Interdisciplinary Forum on Cardiovascular Diseases. She has also been a participant in two National Natural Science Foundation of China projects, investigating the mechanisms of metallothionein in preventing diabetic cardiomyopathy and the role of Sestrin2 in improving myocardial hypertrophy in aged mice.

Research Interests:

Dr. Wenqian Zhou researches interests are ferroptosis, diabetic cardiomyopathy, low-dose cadmium exposure, cardiac pathogenesis, cardiovascular diseases, lymphocyte immunity and inflammation, p53, cardiovascular health and disease, prognosis and myocardial infarction.
