Pedro Abalos has completed his DVM degree from the University of Chile in the Faculty of Husbandry and Veterinary Medical Sciences and his MSc from University of London, UK in the Royal Veterinary College. He is currently working as an associate professor in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine at the University of Chile. He has authored publications in some esteemed journals.
His research interests mainly focus on prevention and control of infectious diseases by evaluation of different diagnostic methods and use and evaluation of vaccines, especially in bovine brucellosis prevention, as well as in canine and ram epididymitis diagnosis. Also, he has been interested in research in Johne’s disease, corynebacterial infections, salmonellosis diagnosis and tuberculosis control.
