Biography:

Monica BUTNARIU is graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry-Biology-Geography of West University Timisoara, profile Chemistry (B.Sc. diploma 1997), then the M.Sc. in Technologies of Non-Pollutant Processes of Polytechnic University, Timisoara, Industrial Chemistry and Environmental Engineering Faculty (1999), Postgraduate specialization in Environmental Studies, with specialty “Mitigation of pollution, protection and management of environment” of University “Transylvania” Brasov (2011) and Postdoctoral studies of “Victor Babes” University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Timisoara (2012). Since 2014, is Full Professor at Banat’s University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine “King Michael I of Romania” from Timisoara. The habilitation diploma was obtained at University in Cluj Napoca, in 2013 Public Defence thesis entitled „Identification and quantification of biocompounds in life science and applied biotechnology areas, aimed at sustainable development”, obtained after his Ph.D. in Sciences with thesis „Research regarding the content of heavy metals soils Banat and environmental consequences” (2005).

Research Interests:

Chemistry and analytical biochemistry, the research on natural compounds/active principles of plants environment protection, the development of approaches for chemical characterization of plants/plant mixtures using different methods, Methods of Microbiology and Food and Nutrition Research.
