Dr. Nagy A. Youssef is an Associate Professor at the Medical Colleague of Georgia, Augusta University. He has conducted research studies (as PI or co-investigator) in the research areas in civilians, veterans, and active duty personnel, and has presented his research in many scientific peer-reviewed journals, published abstracts, and lectured nationally and internationally. His clinical training included medical school at Cairo University (Egypt); and psychiatry residency and postgraduate fellowship at the University of South Alabama and Yale University. He also completed a postgraduate research fellowship at both Durham VA and Duke University. He was on the faculty at Duke University before moving to Augusta. He has specialized training in ECT, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS), and MST from Duke University. He has been awarded several national awards.He serves +an editorial board member of several scientific journals. He also held several offices in scientific societies including being a member of the Board of Directors and Committee Chairman of the American Academy of Clinical Psychiatrists for 10 years, and co-chaired several scientific conferences.
His research interest mainly focuses on clinical, and research in areas related to mechanistic and therapeutic innovation for treatment-resistant psychiatric disorders. He did extensive research in the areas of mood disorders, and PTSD and suicide prevention especially as it pertains to brain stimulation and modulation and genomics.

Dr. Qiang Cheng received the BS and MS degrees from the College of Mathematical Science at Peking University, China, and the PhD degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. Currently, he is an associate professor at the Institute of Biomedical Informatics and the Department of Computer Science, the University of Kentucky. He previously was a faculty fellow at the Air Force Research Laboratory, Wright-Patterson, OH, a senior researcher and senior research scientist at Siemens Medical Solutions, Siemens Corporate Research, Princeton, NJ, and associate professor at the Department of Computer Science, Southern Illinois University Carbondale. His research interests include data science, pattern recognition, machine learning, and biomedical informatics. He has published many peer-reviewed papers in various premium venues including IEEE TPAMI, TNNLS, TSP,NIPS, CVPR, ICDM, AAAI, ICDE, CIKM, KDD, ACM TIST, and TKDD. He has a number of international patents issued or filed with the IBM T.J. Watson Research Laboratory, Siemens Medical, and Southern Illinois University.
His research interests focuses on pattern recognition, big data analytics and machine learning, modeling and simulation of biomedical and healthcare services, signal/image processing in biomedicine, engineering, healthcare.

Dr. Lin obtained his PhD in Virtual Reality from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1998.Prior to working in Athabasca University, Dr. Lin was a research associate of Institute for Information Technology of National Research Council (NRC) of Canada. Dr. Lin did post-doc research at University of Calgary. Dr. Lin severed asthe Co-Editor-In-Chief of International Journal of Distance Education Technologies (IJDET) during 2010-2011, and the Editor-In-Chief of International Journal of Distance Education Technologies (IJDET) during 2012-2013. He is the editor of book “Designing Distributed Learning Environments with Intelligent Software Agents” published by Information Science Publishing. Furthermore, he has acted as Principal and co-Principal Investigator on more than 12 funded research including two NSERC Discovery Grants, one CFI of Canada, two research grants from Ministry of Education of China, others funding from Athabasca University and South China University of Technology of China.
His current main research interests include Algorithms, Algorithm Visualization for online learning, Mechanism Design, Bioinformatics, AI, Machine Learning, and Game-based Learning.

Dr Qasem, a Professor of Weed Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Jordan, Amman, Jordan. His studies included the Bacholar of Science in Agricultural Sciences from Aleppo University, Syria , and the Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Weed Science, Department of Plant Production and Protection, FacuLty of Agriculture, University of Jordan, and Doctor of Phylosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Plant Physiology/ Weed Science, Department of Biological Sciences, Univrsity of London, UK.
Dr Qasem main duties include planning and conduction of scientific research and teaching in the fields of Weed Science, Plant Physiology and Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. Dr. Qasem is an author for many research papers and book chapters published in refered international journals and scientific books. He is an author of four textbooks, Plant Science, Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, He contributed in many reigonal and world congresses, and has many scientific research reports and paper abstracts. Dr Qasem supervised and directed thesis work for many graduate students, and contributed as an examiner for many in Jordan and abroad. He is an awardy of the Shoman Foundation Prize for Youth Arab Researchers in Agricultural Science, Hisham Hijjawi Award in Agriculture and Water. University of Jordan for his outstanding scientific research achievements and teaching excellence, University of Jordan Prize for the Best and Outstanding Academic Book in Applied Sciences in 2004, Agricultural Engineers Association Prize in Publication, Scientific Research and Extension, 2006, and the Distiquished Researcher Prize in Agricultural Sciences, Dr Qasem is a founder of the International Allelopathy Society, Asian Allelopathy Society and Near East Weed Science Society, a life member of the International Weed Science Society , member of the Weed Science Society Japan, International Parasitic Weed Society, the Arab Society for Plant Protection and EWRS Working Group/ Weed Management in Irrigated Vegetables. He is an editor for many international journals. Dr Qasem invited and traveled to present his work over the globe.
His research interest mainly focuses on weed control, herbicides, competition, allelopathy, parasitic flowering plants, medicinal and aromatic plants, weed ecophysiology.

Dr. Simona De Summa gained a Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology (University of Parma, Italy) with a thesis regarding the role of clusterin in prostate cancer. Thus, she started to work in IRCCS-Istituto Tumori “Giovanni Paolo II” (Bari-ITALY) where she was first employed as wet scientist. In the meantime, she terminated a Specialization Course in “Medical Statistics and Genomics”, which introduced her in the fields of statistics and bioinformatics.
Indeed, she started a collaboration with University of Verona for the improvement of variant calling for Next Generation Sequencing data. She is part of the working group of bio informaticians of Alliance against Cancer, a network which groups together Italian research institutes. To date she is involved in many project focusing on personalized therapies for cancer patients.
Her research interest mainly focuses on bioinformatics and the comprehensive analysis of NGS data in order to obtain even more information regarding immune-microenvironment of tumours.“Medical Statistics and Genomics”.

Francesca Conserva completed her education in biomedicine at University of Ferrara, where she graduated in 2009. During her master studies she joined a collaboration with Karolinska Institute working on the metabolism and function of nucleosides, nucleotides and nucleoside analogues, exploring their potential as therapeutic targets. As a graduate student, she continued her research training at karolinska Institute, working on the molecular characterization of novel p53-based cancer therapy .She received her PhD in Biotechnologies Applied to Tissue and Organ Transplants at the University of Bari in 2014 studying the molecular mechanisms of Diabetic Nephropathy using a systems biology approach and developing extensive expertise on mRNA profiling in tissues and bio fluids. She continued her post-doc research at the Maugeri Scientific Institute (Cassano) where she explored the potential of mRNA profiling in Heart Failure. She is highly interested in the use of integrated approaches for the discovery of molecular biomarkers of disease.
Her research interest mainly focuses on Genomics, Systems Biology, mRNAs function and profiling, Computational Biology, Genetics, Transcriptomics, Molecular Biomarker Signature.

Dr Adrian Nicolae Branga received his PhD degree in Applied Mathematics at Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca in February 2003. His current research concerns are Statistical methods, Computational models, Programming language, Data processing, Probabilistic data networks. He is currently Associate Professor at Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Romania. Between 2002 and 2010 he worked in the Software Industry as a Programmer Analyst at AMN Systems Ro, with the following technologies: C++, C#, ASP, PHP, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, CSS, JQuery, XML. Dr Branga worked on several research projects during his career. He wrote 8 books / monographs and published 18 scientific articles in journals indexed in Thomson Reuters Web of Science or other international databases and 6 papers in proceedings of international conferences. He was a member in the scientific and organizing committees of 16 international conferences and invited speaker / participant (with scientific papers) at 45 international conferences and research seminars. Dr Branga is a member of the Research Center in Mathematics and Applications and a member of the International Research Seminar in Mathematics and Related Fields, within Lucian Blaga University. He was Editor-in-Chief of the journal General Mathematics between 2010 and 2014.

He has worked with athletic clubs in many disciplines.Dr. Najafipour received his MD degree from Shiraz University, Iran and earned his Ph.D. in Sports Medicine from the University of Metropolitan, Manchester and performed PostDoc. Dr. Wenfei Jin is an Associate Professor in Department of Biology in Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Dr. Jin received his bachelor's degree from Zhengzhou University in 2006. He received his Ph.D. in Computational biology from Chinese Academy of Sciences and Max Planck Society Partner Institute for Computational Biology (PICB) with Prof. Li Jin (CAS member) and Prof. Shuhua Xu in 2012. Dr. Jin completed his Postdoc Fellow in systems biology at National Institutes of Health (NIH) with Dr. Keji Zhao in 2017. He was selected to “National 1000 young talents program of China” and joined in Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) in 2017. Dr. Jin works on population genetics and precision medicine related field since his Ph.D. program. He has published >20 research articles and book chapters, including first/co-fist author articles on Nature, AJHG, Genome Res, Genome Biol and HMG. Dr. Jin and his colleagues developed single cell DNase-seq (scDNase-seq) that could provide key regulatory information for precision medicine (Jin, et.al, 2015 Nature). Dr. Jin is the recipient of many honors and awards including Springer Theses, CAS Excellent Doctoral Dissertation and NHLBI Orloff Award. Dr. Jin is especially interested in promoting the applications of single cell sequencing in clinical diagnosis and medical consultation
Dr. Jin’s lab is interested in identifying genetic/epigenetic changes that drive oncogenesis, and developing disease risk prediction model for precision medicine. The long-term goal of the lab is to develop efficient personalized treatment for cancers based on patients’ genetic background. In near future, the lab will focus on investigating genetic/epigenetic heterogeneity and micro-evolution of cancer cells using single cell sequencing related technologies
