Dr. Nermeen Shaffie is a Professor of Histology at the National Research Center, Cairo, Egypt. She received her M.B.B.Ch Medicine and Surgery from Faculty of Medicine, Assiut University, Egypt. She joined Faculty of Medicine, Minia University, Egypt as a demonstrator of Histology, where she had her MD and PhD. of Histology. Then she participated as a lecturer of Histology and examiner in Minia University and other Universities in Egypt. She also participated in writing scientific books (general and systemic histology) for Medical students.
After a 17 years career (1986-2003) there Dr. Nermeen moved to Cairo to be a member of Medical Division in National Research Center, where she was promoted to Assistant Professor and then to a Professor of Histology. Along this period of time Dr. Nermeen was concerned about histopathology of liver, testis and bone diseases. Recently, she was busy in a number of researches about Medicinal Plants as alternatives for synthetic compounds. Along her career Dr. Nermeen attended to many conferences, workshops. She received an award of appreciation for international publications from National Research Center in 2014.
Her research interest mainly focuses on Histology, dermatology, pathology, endocrinology, biochemistry.
