She qualified from the University of Central Lancashire in 2008 with a first class honours degree in Sports Therapy. Followed by the completion of my Masters in Science (by Research) in 2012 thesis entitled; an investigation into the influence of athletic taping on the postures of female equine riders during sitting trot. Working alongside elite dressage and show jumping riders, I have published research in the area of postural characteristics in elite dressage riders. She currently undertaking my PhD in the area of cryotherapeutic interventions within elite sport alongside a number commercial research projects and publications in the remit of sports medicine. She have several publications currently under review/published relating to areas of elite performance in sport, sports injury, cryotherapy application in elite sport and rider biomechanics for elite equine rider performance.
She employed at the University of Central Lancashire as Programme Lead for BSc Sports Therapy programme and teaches across the MSc Football, Science and Rehabilitation programme. She supervises a number of postgraduate research projects at MSc and PhD level, and part of the ethics panel committee. Recently she has developed a research group in Elite Equine Rider Performance in the remit of Performance and Sports Medicine collaborating with a number of institutes and professionals in the industry.
Her research interests range from spinal posture dysfunctions, joint positions sense at the knee, athletic taping, movement analysis, EMG, lower limb biomechanics, quantification of equine rider posture, thermal imaging and cryotherapy and elite performance / injury in sport. Her recent research projects have included project coordinator for research into the effect of whole-body cryotherapy, in association with Wigan Warriors RFL first team squad and BOC Linde mobile cryotherapy chambers with numerous publications in the topic area of cryotherapy, including its effects on JPS. She is working on a number of research remits in elite sport ranging from performance, sports injury, soft tissue, injury assessment, screening prevention and injury risk reduction.
