Ole Hertel (OH) is professor and deputy Head of Department at Department of Environmental Science, Aarhus University. OH has a background as MSc in Environmental Engineering, a BSc in Management, and he holds a PhD in Geophysics and a DSc (higher doctoral degree) in Environmental Atmospheric Chemistry. He started in air pollution research in 1987. He has substantial teaching experience from additional positions as external lecturer in other Danish Universities, as well as from supervision of MSc, PhD and post doc students.
Ole Hertel has a background in air pollution modelling, but in recent years he has been highly involved in application of low-cost sensor based devices for measurements of air pollution. His research concerns mainly two areas: atmospheric nitrogen deposition on nature and human air pollution exposure assessment and associated health effects.
