Ana Rita Ramalho Figueiras

Biography:

Ana Rita Figueiras holds a Ph.D. from the University of Coimbra and currently serves as a Researcher and Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Coimbra. She is also a scientific member of REQUIMTE/LAQV, bringing a wealth of expertise to her research endeavors.

With a focus on drug delivery, Ana Rita's research spans several key areas, including polymeric micelles, cyclodextrins, and mucoadhesive polymers. During her doctoral studies, she honed her skills in drug permeability, cellular viability, cytotoxicity studies, and mucoadhesive biomaterials. Additionally, she delved into therapeutic applications of cyclodextrins and conducted computational studies in drug design, further enriching her knowledge and capabilities.

Building on her Ph.D. research, Ana Rita is dedicated to advancing drug delivery strategies, particularly through the utilization of block copolymers and micellar systems. Her objective is to integrate her expertise and leverage innovative approaches to enhance the effectiveness of drug delivery, ultimately contributing to advancements in pharmaceutical science.
