Azam Taufik Mohd Din

Biography:

Dr. Azam Taufik Mohd Din is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Sains Malaysia. He holds a B.Eng, M.Sc., and Ph.D in Chemical Engineering, and his research interests include adsorption, ordered mesoporous materials, pyrolysis, and biomass. Dr. Azam has published several research articles in reputable journals, and he has supervised and graduated several MSc. and Ph.D students in research mode.

Research Interests:

Dr. Azam's research interests include the preparation, characterization, and performance evaluation of hydrochars from biomass for CO2 adsorption. He is also interested in functionalizing activated carbon to improve target pollutants' adsorption, synthesizing and characterizing ordered mesoporous materials for environmental remediation application, and exploring pyrolysis of biomass and co-pyrolysis of plastic and biomass. Additionally, he has active grants and completed projects related to the adsorption of pharmaceutical compounds on ordered mesoporous carbons and the development of activated carbon from agricultural solid waste for liquid-phase adsorption of cationic and anionic dyes.
