Islam M Ghazi, PharmD, has been named assistant professor of clinical pharmacy at University of the Sciences in Philadelphia. He comes to USciences with experience as a clinical pharmacotherapy fellow for the Center for Anti-infective Research and Development in Hartford. He previously worked as a clinical pharmacist in Brockville, Ontario. Dr. Ghazi’s research interests include investigating the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of microbiology active compounds using in vivo animal modeling designed to experimentally simulate human conditions and performing bench-top microbiological testing. At USciences, Dr. Ghazi will teach a variety of courses, including those about infectious diseases in the University’s department of pharmacy practice and pharmacy administration.Dr. Ghazi earned his doctor of pharmacy degree at the University of Florida in CT- Gainesville, Fla. He also earned a Master of Science degree in applied chemistry and a bachelor of science in pharmaceutical sciences from Alexandria University in Alexandria, Egypt. Originally from Egypt, Dr. Ghazi currently resides in FL and Wayne, PA with his wife and two children.
