Weiwei Zhang

Biography:

Dr. Zhang earned her Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2015. She has B.S. degree in Computer Science and M.S. degree in Mathematics. Her experience is in computer science, mathematics and statistics, with expertise in high throughput next-generation sequencing (NGS) data analysis. She develops and supports analysis pipelines for molecular diagnostics lab, and is involved in NGS panel validation. She has been publishing highly impact peer-reviewed papers. She received many awards and honors such as Travel Fellowship. High-Performance Computing in the Life/Medical Sciences at the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute (2013), and Travel Fellowship. The Open Science Data Cloud Partnerships for International Research and Education at University of Amsterdam (2014). She has membership in Association for molecular pathology.

Research Interests:

Her research interest focuses on large-scale genomic abnormalities studies in lymphoid malignancies. My research includes somatic mutation detection, gene expression analysis, fusion gene detection, T-cell clonality assessment, DNA copy number analysis, and statistical analysis in frozen fresh tissue samples, FFPE tissue samples, and cell free DNA.
