Anthony WL Kwok

Biography:

Dr. Anthony Wai-leung Kwok holds significant academic and professional roles in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Rehabilitation. He serves as the Deputy Director and Lecturer of the Postgraduate Studies Programme at the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Additionally, he is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, Hangzhou Wanxiang Polytechnic, and Adjunct Associate Professor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Dr. Kwok is recognized as a Fellow of the Safety Institute of Australia, the Australian College of Health Service Management, and the Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives. He is also a member of the Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association and the Hong Kong Ergonomics Society.

His academic contributions include numerous publications in internationally acclaimed journals, including articles and chapters in textbooks and rehabilitation manuals. He has presented at over 50 conferences and received more than three awards for his research contributions.

Dr. Kwok's expertise extends to his involvement in the NIH-funded Mr. OS Project, showcasing his commitment to advancing musculoskeletal health research.

Research Interests:

His research interests focuses on osteoporosis care and control, TCM and falls prevention, integrative medicine for cartilage degeneration and regeneration, TCM and sports rehabilitation, applying TCM in work rehabilitation and injuries prevention, application of acupuncture in treating COPD, acupuncture for pain relief in arthritis, TCM for frozen shoulder, the accuracy of acupuncture point findings, the meta-analysis of the treatment effects of acupressure/acupuncture.
