Dr. Ahmed Hegazi is a distinguished Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the National Research Center in Egypt. He has built a prolific career in scientific research and academia, earning his master's degree in 1979 and his Ph.D. in 1981. Since 1977, Dr. Hegazi has been actively involved in organizing and contributing to national and international research projects, marking his commitment to advancing scientific knowledge.

At the National Research Center, Dr. Hegazi has played a pivotal role as the principal investigator on multiple research projects, contributing significantly to the fields of microbiology and immunology. Beyond his research endeavors, he holds esteemed positions including the presidency of the Egyptian Environmental Society for Uses and Production of Bee Products, secretary of the Egyptian Society of Apitherapy, and secretary general of the African Federation of Apiculture Associations. His involvement extends globally as a member of the International Apitherapy Commission (APIMONDIA), where he contributes to the advancement of apitherapy and bee product utilization worldwide.

Dr. Hegazi's contributions to science have been recognized with several prestigious awards and honors. Notably, he received the 10th Academic Conference PRA and NAS (Nippon Apitherapy Soc.) Japan Award in 2006, and he was awarded two Bronze medals at The International Innovation Fair of the Middle East in Kuwait. In 2016, he was honored with the Merit Award in Medical Sciences by the National Research Centre in Egypt, underscoring his exceptional achievements and dedication to advancing medical and environmental sciences through his research and leadership.
