Riccardo Zese

Biography:

Riccardo Zese is a post-doctoral research assistant and esteemed member of the Artificial Intelligence research group at the University of Ferrara. His primary focus lies in the realm of reasoning and learning techniques for probabilistic logics. Specifically, he is dedicated to developing a comprehensive framework for managing probabilistic ontologies derived from linked data.

In tandem with this pursuit, Riccardo explores the utilization of Prolog as a powerful language for implementing competitive description logics, reasoning algorithms, either independently or in conjunction with DLs within hybrid frameworks. His remarkable contributions in this domain were acknowledged when his Ph.D. thesis received an honorable mention for the EurAI Distinguished Dissertation Award 2016. This seminal work was subsequently published as the book "Probabilistic Semantic Web - Reasoning and Learning," which was jointly published by IOS Press Amsterdam and AKA Verlag Berlin, forming the basis for influential tutorials in the field.

Riccardo's expertise and dedication have garnered recognition, with his work on one of the systems resulting in winning the best paper award at the 7th edition of RR, held in Mannheim in 2013. Through his innovative research and scholarly contributions, Riccardo Zese continues to advance the frontiers of artificial intelligence and probabilistic reasoning, leaving a profound impact on the academic community and beyond.
