Nikolay Karabutov graduated from the Kharkiv Institute of Radio Electronics (Ukraine) in 1972, earning his PhD in 1982 and Doctor of Engineering degree in 1993. He attained the academic title of Professor in 1998. From 1995 to 2002, he served as the Head of the Department of Informatics and Computer Technologies at the Moscow State Academy of Water Transport. Since 2002, Professor Karabutov has held the position of Professor in the Problem Control Department at Moscow Technological University (MIREA). In 1995, he was honored with the State Award in Science and Technology of the Russian Federation for his research on adaptive systems. Additionally, he served as a Professor in the Department of Applied Informatics at Moscow State Industrial University from 2002 to 2014, and as a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Moscow Financial University from 2011 to 2014.
His research interests are automatic control theory, identification, adaptive control and decision-making, data mining, econometrics, analysis of mathematical frameworks.
