Apostolos Gkamas

Biography:

Apostolos Gkamas holds a Diploma, Master's Degree, and Ph.D. from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of Patras University, Greece. Currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University Ecclesiastical Academy of Vella in Ioannina, his research interests revolve around Computer Networks, Telematics, Multimedia transmission, and Cross-Layer Design. His primary focus lies in the transmission of multimedia data over networks and multicast congestion control.

Dr. Gkamas has made significant contributions to his field, with over 70 papers published in international journals and reputable refereed conferences. He has also co-authored three books, covering topics such as Multimedia and Computer Networks, Special Network Issues, and IPv6.

His expertise extends to participation in various R&D projects, both at the EU and national levels, including IST, FP6, FP7, Integer eLearning, PENED, and EPEAEK, reflecting his dedication to advancing research and innovation in the field of computer engineering and informatics.
